More About Rachel Slough Johnson

Clinical Interests:

I am committed to being a knowledgeable, compassionate, adaptable partner in healing. I am especially interested in working with complex trauma and neuro-dissociative states across the lifespan (ages 3+), PTSD, relationships, neurodiversity, chronic pain, and sex therapy. I also enjoy supporting and teaching new therapists.

Clinical Approach:

It is important to me to tailor my approach to each client's giftings, preferences, and ways of being. That said, I use a variety of approaches. I am certified in AIR Network and Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga. I enjoy helping clients bring their bodies into treatment if desired, and have completed advanced trainings in EMDR, sensorimotor psychotherapy, sensory motor arousal regulation treatment, and neurofeedback to support that lens. I have training in the Gottman method, and can offer therapy in Spanish. At the core of it, I hope clients experience being seen, believed, and know that they matter through our work together.

Hobbies:

I enjoy reading a variety of books, often more than one at the same time, and exploring independent bookstores. I also have fun playing electric violin, trying new board games, and searching for the perfect cup of coffee.
