More About Sarah Likens
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with diverse populations with a wide variety of mental health concerns; from life transitions, anxiety, depression, and perinatal concerns, to self-esteem issues, stress management, parenting support, grief & loss. I work with clients throughout the lifespan, and welcome culturally diverse and LGBTQ+ individuals. I also work with couples and families on improving communication and working through conflict.
Clinical Approach:
I believe therapy is a collaborative effort. I compassionately meet clients where they are and support them as they move toward their desired goals. My primary clinical approaches are Client-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but utilize other theories and creative approaches (Art Therapy) depending upon the client’s specific needs and concerns. I believe people are naturally gifted with the skills, wisdom and resilience to reach their greatest potential and it is an honor to partner with clients on their journey.
Hobbies:
I value quality time to connect with friends and family. I love to travel; living abroad for 13 years instilled a passion to learn about and experience other cultures. My background in Journalism and interest in the arts, has fostered a passion for artistic expression of all kinds; specifically art, music, poetry, & dance. I enjoy exercising, long walks & talks with friends, thrifting & antiquing, cuddling with my dog Max, and spending time with my husband & two daughters.
