More About Wayne Luebbert

Clinical Interests:

My clinical focus includes families, especially those who have experienced trauma. This includes teaching parenting skills to parents who have difficult or traumatized children as well as helping family members improve their communication skills. I work with adolescents, adults and couples on issues ranging from depression and anxiety to trauma and behavioral problems. I have a background in religion and like to assist people integrate their faith more fully into their lives.

Clinical Approach:

I have received training in solution focused therapy, cognitive therapy, and family therapy. I have taken extensive training in understand trauma and how to help individuals and families transcend their painful experiences. My overall approach is collaborative. I believe the best results come from the client and therapist working together to find solutions. I focus on listening first and understanding what the client is trying to achieve before I offer ideas. The key word for my practice is usefulness. I want the time clients spend with me to be useful to their lives.

Hobbies:

I am very involved in my church in various volunteer and leadership roles. I enjoy being with friends and family. I love college football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and follow many sports teams. I enjoy folk music.
