More About Heidi McElroy
Clinical Interests:
I am interested in working with individuals 17+, couples, and families with children of all ages, including military families. I have experience in working with those who are going through life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, as well as those that enjoy evolving as a person. I have worked with people who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, Panic attacks, Bi-Polar Disorder, and grief, including infant loss.
Clinical Approach:
I have an integrative approach and believe in attending and befriending the whole person - mind, body and spirit. My desire is support individuals, couples, and families in their process of unfolding into the person/people there were created to be. When invested, the outcome is growth in relationships with her/his creator, self and others . I integrate many different skills as a result of my training in trauma focused interventions and mindfulness. For those that would like support through prayer and/or exploring spirituality in session, I am honored to do so, as I believe it is powerful for healing.
Hobbies:
I enjoy time with my husband and our two dogs, our children, grandchildren, family and friends. I enjoy time in nature doing different types of physical activity, yoga, exercise, travel, listening to a variety of music, attending music and theatre events, and continuously learning.
