More About Wei “Rhouth” Zhou

Clinical Interests:

I believe that everyone in this world has a unique sense of meaning and purpose in life. My vocational calling is to serve the psychological & spiritual well-being of children and adolescents within their family systems.

Well-equipped with cross-cultural counseling, I have worked extensively among the Black, Latino and Asian communities, and with families of low social-economic status. I believe in examining the underlying assumptions and communicating with a spirit of empathy and compassion, to produce reconciliation among people from the various social-cultural background.

My specialties involve working with children and adolescents who have experienced emotional disturbance, identity issues, lifespan trauma, developmental disabilities or interpersonal/relationship challenges.

Clinical Approach:

A relational-focused, trauma-conscious and strength-based practice is the forefront of all my clinical and community work, and a family-systems perspective is my approach to understanding individual lifestyle issues and family dynamics. I believe that the transformation of children and adolescents happens when they embrace truth and experience freedom, peace and joy in life.

Hobbies:

Nature walk, aerobic dancing, novels and musicals, strategic board game, foreign film and travel to appreciate diverse cultures.
