Outpatient Mental Health Professional
Essentially, I am interested in working with adults to tackle any mental health issues they want to work on. Given this, my clinical interests are diverse. I have special interest in working with clients who are struggling with any combination of: depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, anger, stress, trauma, substance use issues, grief/loss, guilt/shame, or low self-esteem. I also appreciate working with clients who are experiencing symptoms of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or a personality disorder.
Different people have their own needs and preferences, so I work together with each client to figure out what clinical strategies will work best for them. My overall approach is person-centered, meaning that I practice empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard with all clients. I primarily draw clinical strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). I am also familiar with strategies from solution focused therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and narrative therapy.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and my pets. I also like to travel, take walks in nature, read, play video games, and watch TV (science and history documentaries, sci-fi shows, K-Dramas, or fiction from other cultures).
